Our Story

Iniya Farms, an integrated farming systems spanning a total area of around 20 acres is located at Kalathur Village, Tamilnadu, India. The land was bought in the year 2010 by Dr Kandasamy & family. As soon as it was procured, Palmyra palm trees were planted at the borders of the farm and the land was left idle for 7 years. During this period, the farm saw a footfall of cows from the neighbouring village, thereby slowly converting it into organic farmland. In the year, 2017 the first step towards carrying out Agriculture started on the farm, which is the deepening of the open well. After the establishment of the water source, paddy was cultivated in the entire farm. In the subsequent year, the first set of indigenous cows were bought comprising the breeds Gir and Kankrej. Within a period of another six months, we procured 24 more indigenous cows comprising the breeds Sahiwal, Rathi, etc. Today, the farm houses 48 numbers of cows and calves which are an integral and important component of the system. Additionally, several trees including fruit and timber were planted as hedgerows throughout the farm.
